As Cordell, Neher & Company’s accounting
and auditing director, Phil Blakney heads up a
team of highly knowledgeable and experiences professionals.
For more than 30 years Phil has become a proven
expert providing accounting services to businesses
requiring annual audits, reviews and compilations.
He has become well known for his specific industry
knowledge of cooperative organizations. His ability
to mentor younger professionals to challenge themselves
has greatly enhanced the skills of his team.
Phil
further lends his talents to a variety of other
areas including estate and financial planning,
trust and fiduciary accounting, tax planning for
individuals, corporations, partnerships and not-for-profit
organizations.
Phil
joined Cordell, Neher & Company, PLLC with
Managing Partner, Jeff Neher, when their firm
merged with that of Cordell and Conner in November,
1988.
Community
Phil is the ultimate family man. Although
most of his children are grown and out of the
home, he and his wife, Kay, still maintain a full
schedule as spectators and supporters of local
sporting events and as the grandchildren grow,
will attend their games as well. Contributing
to the betterment of sports in the Valley, Phil
served as President of Wenatchee AAU Basketball
from 1987 to 2001 and has coached various youth
athletic teams. Although his playing days are
over, he never minds watching the game from the
comfort of his couch or the sideline.
Phil served as President of Wenatchee Central Lions Club for 2004 - 2005 and was honored by the club with a Melvin Jones Fellow. Phil is also a member of the Wenatchee Area Chamber of Commerce and past Chairman of Taxation and Public Budget Division, Small Business Council and Legislative Division. He remains very active in St. Joseph’s Parish as a member of the Finance Committee and past president of St. Joseph School Parents Club.
Credentials
Phil is member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Washington Society of CPA’s, and currently serves as a reviewer for the Audit and Accounting Guide for Audits of Agricultural Producers and Agricultural Cooperatives for the American Institute of CPA's. Phil is very active as a member of the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives, and has served as the past president of the Pacific Northwest Chapter and Chairman of the 1993 National Annual Meeting in Seattle. He is currently Chairman of the National Convention Planning and Resources Committee and serves on the Accounting and Auditing committee, the National Program committee and the Small Cooperative committee.

is a graduate of Seattle University, receiving
is Bachelor of Arts in Accounting in 1972.
