Karen was born in Lafayette, IN. She graduated cum laude from the University of Montana in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. She earned her Washington state CPA license by reciprocity from Montana in 1980. Karen began her career in public accounting in 1978 in Lewiston, Idaho, before later that year moving to Wenatchee, Washington and continuing her career with J.D. Franklin & Co., a local CPA firm. In 1987, Karen joined Ringler, Neher & Blakney which merged with Cordell & Conner to form what is currently Cordell, Neher & Co. She specializes in personal & business tax preparation, pension plan audits, education loans & credits, farmers, retail furniture and financial and retirement planning. Karen is a member of the Washington Society of CPA's, Treasurer of the Wenatchee Applarians, member of the Grace Lutheran Church Finance Team and Endowment Team, and flutist with the Woods House Flute Consort. She has been a builder on two homes for Habitat for Humanity, as well as score tabulator for the Apple Capital Marching Band Festival and Apple Blossom Festival Parades for bands/drill teams. In keeping with her strong sense of family, she supports her husband in his many activities around the valley, and her two grown children as they pursue professions outside the valley. .
